"What's Inside You" Contest Rules & FAQs

December 1, 2008 - March 2, 2009

What is the "What's Inside You" Contest?

For the What's Inside You Contest, we invited people from all over the United States to tell us about the amazing things they accomplished using a computer powered by an Intel® processor. The contest closed to new entries on January 15,2009, but you can still browse the submissions.

How the "What's Inside You" Contest Works

Have questions? Check out the Frequently Asked Questions below. For complete contest rules and information, please read the Official Rules and Regulations.

How do I enter?
It's easy. Simply upload an image, audio, or video file along with a story to describe your project, telling us how Intel's technology and computing power played a key role in your design or how your design was inspired by the speed, efficiency and power of the Intel processor. When you're satisfied with what you've written, just submit and you'll be automatically entered into the What's Inside You Contest.

Who can enter?
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate and a resident of the United States (except Puerto Rico). No purchase necessary. See full Official Rules and Regulations for details.

The contest is open to innovators, educators, entertainers, communicators, creators - anyone with a story to tell. Maybe you're engaged with high-def video, audio or graphics as a digital artist, musician or filmmaker. Or you rely on Intel's amazing processing power to multi-task, stay productive and keep in touch with your online life all day long - at work, at school, at home or wherever you are when the creative bug bites. Just think of all the things you've been able to do, thanks to the power and performance of your Intel processor.

Whether you're setting out to change the world - or just your little corner of it - you're eligible to enter the What's Inside You Contest.

What do I need to submit?
Tell us how Intel's processor technology helps unleash your creativity and show us your innovation in action. Your submission should include an image, audio or video that creatively describes your project and an accompanying story, telling us how Intel's technology and computing power played a key role in your design or how your design was inspired by the speed, efficiency and power of the Intel processor.

Here are some ideas to get you started: digital photography, animation, digital artwork, an original video or a behind-the-scenes look at your creative process.

All submissions must be accompanied by a story, but rest assured, you will not be judged on your writing, just the essence of your story.

Are there any restrictions on what I can submit?
Your What's Inside You Contest entry should adhere to the following limits:
Story detail: Up to 2,048 characters in length
One of the following:
  • Images: Up to 3 images (jpeg, gif or png), no larger than 5 MB each
  • Video: 1 video (avi or mpeg), no larger than 50 MB
  • Audio + thumbnail: 1 audio (mp3), no larger than 7 MB; and 1 image (jpeg, gif or png), no larger than 5 MB

Please note that a submission can be disqualified if it EITHER subjects the submitter or Intel to legal jeopardy or compromises Intel's intellectual property or trade secret interests. This includes words or imagery:
1.That are sexually charged or suggestive,
2.That depict acts of violence or cruelty,
3.That attack or disparage or present in a false light ANY individual or group of people as such,
4.That are otherwise vile, nasty or otherwise uncivil,
5.That make false performance claims about Intel products and technologies, or
6.That use the likeness, words or other intellectual property of a celebrity (for example, a movie star or rock star) without appropriate permission to do so.

What are the judges looking for?
Submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria, weighed equally:
 • Relevance of processor in the design and innovative use of technology (50%)
 • Overall creativity (50%)
The judges will be looking for cool, innovative images and multimedia that bring your story to life and demonstrate how an Intel processor helped make it possible. Please also note content restrictions above.

How are the winners chosen?
Each contest entry is displayed with a "Vote For Me" button on the left side of the page. Users may vote for the stories which best meet the judges' criteria. Users may vote for as many entries as they like but can only vote ONCE per entry. Community voting results are displayed on the What's Inside You Contest homepage. The official contest judges will then select winners from among the top 10 vote-getters at the conclusion of the community voting period.
