WiMAX Usability in Baltimore

See More Stories >

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Toby tried out many things with his WiMAX-enabled laptop, including downloading and streaming movies, making phone calls with VOIP, and listening to internet radio while driving (do not try this at home!).

“It’s going to be more routine with me to leave the house with my computer. I don’t have to worry about whether the WiFi network is down at the coffee shop where I’m headed to do work which happens all the time. I don’t have to be as selective about places where I might go to do work.”

HOW INTEL PLAYED A PART IN THE PROJECT

This video was produced during an Intel-sponsored WiMAX Customer Experience Program which ran in Baltimore, Maryland from October 20 through December 5, 2008 with commercial WiMAX service provided by XOHM*.

While Intel provided each customer with a WiMAX-embedded notebook powered by Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology and participated in the production of this video, all experiences and opinions expressed within this video are solely those of the customer.

WiMAX service performance can vary by location, by service provider, and by service subscription.
