My name is Andrew Lockhart. I’m a freshman at MSU and a digital as well as traditional artist. Even though I am young I work hard at my art and continue to develop my style. I am a nationally award winning artist and submit my work to every competition I find so I can get better. Art defines my life and here are a few of those definitions…. Let’s face it, most stories that will be submitted on here are all about how wonderfully amazing their Intel powered computers are; how fast, powerful and reliable they are. Yes, I’ll admit this is true, and yes I too have a nice computer (Intel Core 2 Quad) with plenty of RAM and hard drive space. But that is not what this contest is about. Who cares how powerful your computer is? The important thing is how you use that power. My PC enables me to create purely digital works of art with ease. Running such massive programs like Photoshop tends to eat up large amounts of processing power, yet I barely ever run into that problem with my PC. In fact I’ve found that it runs as smooth as any Mac I’ve ever tried, which makes me question why they are the industry standard for digital art and photo manipulation. In all honesty I love my Intel PC. Through it I go from idea to research to preliminary drawings to finished piece. It has yet to hinder my creative spirit and I doubt it ever will.
