ABOUT THE PROJECT
By day, I create medical devices, in some of my free time I create art from photographs and chaotic strange attractors. Back in the 1980s I used my personal computer to look at the chaotic behavior of strange attractors - when you would zoom in those computers could take hours just to plot a single point. When 64bit PCs came along, I dusted off the old algorithms, combined them with digital photos and juiced them up to high resolution, making some remarkable poster sized artwork. Creating art is a liberating process, just getting a single medical device cleared by the FDA can take a team of people years, but a work of art can take shape in minutes and be finished in just a few days - with today's computers.
HOW INTEL PLAYED A PART IN THE PROJECT
64bit Intel processors were used to address the large amount of memory needed to make high resolution poster sized images - without the big memory space and fast processing, my fluid images would look blocky and grainy.
