ABOUT THE PROJECT

Dominic Guay is the Technical Director for Far Cry 2. Having developed the Far Cry 2 game at Ubisoft for the past 3.5 years, he is excited to share this ground-breaking project with the gaming world.

HOW INTEL PLAYED A PART IN THE PROJECT

Ubisoft Montreal and Intel worked very closely during the development of Far Cry 2 to ensure an optimal PC gaming experience for PC gamers and fans of the franchise alike. Intel processors enabled the development team to perform extensive tests to ensure that Far Cry 2 will be scalable based on the number of processing cores available (from 2, 4, 6, 8) – meaning that optimal game performance will be achieved when playing with an Intel processor. Dominic stated that it was interesting to have collaborated with Intel as it provided greater insight into the technology used to develop and eventually play the game.
Given the pure processing power of Intel’s upcoming Core i7 chip, Dominic states that the Core i7 will be a very good processor to play Far Cry 2.
While Intel provided Dominic with a pre-production Intel® Core™ i7 system and participated in video production, the opinions and experiences shared within this video are solely those of Dominic.
